Ph.D. in Human Services - Self-Designed (Self-Directed)

The Ph.D. in Human Services Program develops leaders and practitioners within the helping professions while studying literature and theoretical framework in the human services field. The program emphasizes respect for diverse populations, sensitivity to individual and cultural differences, and ethical responsibility. Students in the Ph.D. in Human Services program have the option to design their own specialization. A Self-Designed specialization must fit within the existing range of expertise of the Human Services faculty and the KAM curriculum structure of the General Program in Human Services. It must also be developed in consultation with program faculty and approved by the faculty chair. Walden is ideal for ambitious learners who wish to pursue an advanced degree without sacrificing career or family.
