Ph.D. in Human Services - Public Health (Course-Based)

The Public Health specialization focuses on the critical public health issues impacting your community. It will drive you to explore the role that health promotion plays in creating positive social change. You will engage in an epidemiological approach to the study of disease and injury in populations and learn how to apply this study to the control of public health problems.

In this specialization you will:

• Examine the social, behavioral, and cultural factors that impact public health.
• Explore the chemical, physical, and biological hazards that can affect the health and safety of a community.
• Gain the key strategies needed for effectively organizing and conducting population-based disease prevention and health promotion programs.
