Ph.D. in Human Services - Family Studies and Intervention Strategies (Course-Based)

The Family Studies and Intervention Strategies specialization provides students with an understanding of the utilization of advanced clinical theory and research methodology within a unique client-centered ecological context. Students are exposed to a broad spectrum of theoretical and clinical approaches to intervention, which emphasize the special needs of minority, gay and lesbian, single-parent, and low-income families. Graduates are particularly skilled at developing multi-modal therapeutic approaches and recognizing special treatment considerations within a diverse client delivery system.

Human services professionals are on the front lines in serving and caring for those who are most vulnerable and in need.  Walden’s Ph.D. in Human Services degree program is designed to help professionals in a broad range of settings - including social services agencies, healthcare agencies, treatment facilities, and more - develop their leadership and management skills to better support their communities.
