Health Management and Policy (Ph.D.)

Walden's Ph.D. in Health Services examines both the theoretical and practical aspects of health care services, based on a learning model that encourages original research and real-world application of knowledge. This dual approach will help you become an effective scholar-practitioner who can meet the challenges of today's health care system and the community it serves.

This specialization prepares professionals to administer health and medical care services within the "integrated delivery systems" model. This specialization also prepares professionals to become administrators of health profession programs (e.g., nursing, public health, and allied health) in higher education institutions. Graduates are prepared to provide administrative leadership and to conduct research to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the services they administer.
