The University of the Cumberlands School Superintendent program of study is designed for individuals who have a master's degree in education and have graduated from an institution of higher learning. Course requirements to obtain this certification consists of the following eighteen hour programs: strategic management in education, school law,
school superintendency, school system administration, education leadership practicum, and school business management. In addition to the requirements listed below, candidates must also have two years of experience as a school principal, supervisor of instruction, guidance counselor, director of pupil personnel, director of special education, school business administrator, local district coordinator of vocational education, or a coordinator, administrator or supervisor of district-wide service.
