The University of the Cumberlands Director of Pupil Personnel (P-12 certification) program of study is designed for individuals who have a master's degree in education and have graduated from an institution of higher learning. Students may earn the Rank I certification at the “sixth-year,” specialist, or doctoral level, which requires 30 hours. Students may also earn non-degree certification at the master’s level, which requires 18 hours. Rank I certification courses include education administration, human resource management and supervision, school program improvement, issues and trends in programs in special education, school system administration, strategic management in education, applied research in education, school and community relations and school law. Non-degree certifcation courses includes only a portion of the aforementioned courses.
