| Program Description: | The MAE in Physical Education Master Teacher is a 36 credit hour program designed for those teachers who prefer a broader understanding of pedagogical practices and a greater skillfulness in delivery of instruction including the ability to gather and use data to assess student learning and revise or design curriculum. With two tracks available, teachers have the option of choosing either the 1) Pedagogy Emphasis or 2) Special Populations Emphasis. The Pedagogy Emphasis provides graduates with advanced knowledge and competence in the teaching of physical education in elementary to post-secondary school settings. The Special Population Emphasis provides graduates with advanced knowledge and competence in providing physical education to students with disabilities and leads to the endorsement in Adapted Physical Education issued by the Nebraska Department of Education. The University of Nebraska at Kearney offers affordable tuition to out-of-state online students. For an out-of-state online student, graduate tuition is $375.00 per credit hour. For a resident of Nebraska, graduate tuition is $245.00 per credit hour (2011-12 rates). Fees are additional. |
