Developed from an international, cross-cultural context that adopts a western perspective of psychology, the MSC in Applied Psychology is designed for working professionals who wish to apply psychological knowledge and research in real-life situations – such as in educational, organisational, and health settings, those keen to pursue doctoral programmes in the field of psychology, and professionals looking to compete for promotion or career advancement, and are interested in the broad discipline of psychology.

Students will gain an in depth knowledge in the principles of psychological research design and analysis (both quantitative and qualitative); ethical issues in research; essential theories, issues and controversies in the science of psychology from a cross-cultural and global perspective; and the basic biological, psychological, and social determinants of physical and mental health.

Those wishing to become counsellors may prefer the Mental Health Psychology Specialisation Track, covering topics such as dual diagnosis implications, theories of wellness and the treatment of mental health disorders, approaches to interventions, and to cognitive approaches to treatment.
