Students use the Associate in Arts degree as a first step toward earning their bachelor’s degree, as well as a resume-building University credential. Associate in Arts students build enhanced communication skills and strengthen their abilities to analyze issues and think critically, traits valued by any employer and useful in pursuing further education in any field. Earning the Associate in Arts degree represents confirmation that the student has completed approximately half of a Bachelor of Arts degree program at the University of Delaware and guarantees eligibility to continue study for a University of Delaware Bachelor of Arts degree. Courses delivered via the Web and CD-ROM give returning adult students the freedom to pursue the Associate in Arts even if their schedules or geographic location prevent them from attending class on campus.
