Union Institute & University’s B.A. program is approved by the Vermont Department of Education to prepare teachers for licensure in Secondary English Education. Learners receive a Vermont license to teach upon successful completion of the program's teacher education option, preparing them for a rewarding career teaching English on the high school level. Vermont has reciprocal agreements with many other states to accept each other's licenses; the Vermont Department of Education Website (www.state.vt.us/educ/) lists these reciprocal agreements. It is important to note that teacher education learners need to pass both the PRAXIS I and PRAXIS II Assessments. Consult your enrollment counselor to learn when you need to take these tests.
