The Associate in Science in Public and Social Services (ASPSS) degree administration of justice option is designed for police officers, probation officers, corrections officers and private or government security personnel. Required courses include Introduction to Human Services or an introductory course to the option. Nine credits in basic theory and 3 credits of Practicum also are required. Adult students usually have a significant number of credits completed in the option upon enrollment. Their remaining credits are completed by a combination of Thomas Edison State College’s Prior Learning Assessment (PLA), examinations and courses. Students must work in the United States or be a U.S. citizen working on a U.S. military base overseas. The option is 21 credits.
