Overview
As more and more organizations in every industry continue to rely upon technology to help run their businesses, the need continues to grow for dedicated IT professionals with industry-current knowledge and skills.

To help meet the need for professionals with the real-world credentials to pursue a growing number of in-demand, entry-level career opportunities, the university designed an ASIT curriculum that focuses on teaching students to:

     • Demonstrate an understanding of current computer networks,
        protocols of data communications and the role of network
        management software.
     • Explain database concepts, discuss the capabilities of
        modern database systems, and apply those concepts in the
        design, implementation and querying of a database to
        support a business.
     • Write programs in at least one high-level programming
        language using programming fundamentals.

Coursework in this real-world degree program covers such topics as programming, computer security, databases and data management, spreadsheet applications, operating systems, computer languages, systems administrations and network management.

Students successfully completing the ASIT degree program will also earn a résumé-enhancing Professional Certificate in UNIX Network Administration. Such credentials can help students add real-world skills to their professional capabilities, further adding to their marketable qualifications in today's competitive job market.
