| Program Title: | International Business- Concentration in Financial Management (Bachelor) |
| Program Level: | Bachelor |
| School: | Schiller International University |
| Program Description: | The field of international financial management addresses financial decisions facing corporate managers regarding trade and investment across national borders. Firms today are increasingly involved in the global economy, and therefore, issues in international financial management are becoming more significant. Changes in international conditions make international financial management more challenging. Foreign investments are distinguished from domestic investments not only by location, but also by currency, applicable interest rates, and governmental jurisdiction. The primary reason that international financial management merits its own field of study is because national borders are not irrelevant. Dealing with multiple currencies, interest rates, and governments creates a whole new dimension of financial complexity. This unique online program introduces accounting theory and practice, in-depth discussion of long-lived assets, bonds, stockholders equity, cost accounting concepts, analysis of financial statements and income taxes. Exceptional professors focus on the importance of working capital control, and the implications of failure to address the wide-ranging constitution of working capital. This course is designed for the MIM and MBA prep student who has little or no previous background in accounting. The course consists of two parts: financial accounting and managerial (management) accounting, to include cost accounting and budgeting. Basic cost concepts, job order and processing costing, cost behavior patterns, cost volume profit analysis, segmented reporting, budgeting, standard costing, variance analysis and service department cost allocation. Core management accounting topics include project evaluation methods, budgeting, cash forecasting, capital budgeting, standard costing, variance analysis, and interpretation of accounts. Schiller International University pushes our students to pay close attention to analytical rigor, substantial attention to empirical evidence, integration of finance, economics, strategy and accounting/taxation, decision processes, fundamental understanding of cash flows, exchange rates, financial risk and much more. You will leave Schiller with a deep understanding of the international environment and the global economy. After earning your degree from Schiller Online you will have the knowledge and experience needed to advance in careers such as foreign exchange analyst, import and export consultant, director of foreign investment, bursar, controller, risk and insurance manager, and cash manager, to name a few. |
