The AS in ECE with a Child with Special Needs Specialization is designed to prepare teachers with the skills to effectively care for and educate children and families with special needs. All children enter the early childhood classroom with a variety of needs and abilities. Our goal is to help teachers develop inclusive classrooms with both children with special needs and typically developing children. Young children with special needs can have more opportunities for success when supported by an informed early childhood teacher.
