Associate of Arts

Iowa Central College Online offers the first two years of a baccalaureate program to students who intend to transfer to a four-year college or university. A student who successfully completes a minimum of 60 semester hours of course work with a minimum G.P.A. of 2.00 can obtain an Associate in Arts degree. Specific courses are required for the A.A. Degree, including courses in English, Math, Science, Psychology, History, etc.

Unlike students in professional or vocational programs, students who enroll in the Associate in Arts Degree program receive broad exposure to a variety of areas, while working toward the goal of someday earning a four-year baccalaureate degree. The A.A. Degree offers students much more that career-specific training because it provides them with a well-rounded learning experience. The courses are equivalent to those at four-year institutions, and can be taken completely online.
