Paralegal (Associate's)

With an Associate's Degree from FMU Online, you'll be ready for entry-level work in the fascinating world of law.

Our online program will give you the training you need to carry out tasks such as:
-Researching legal issues
-Drafting legal documents
-Preparing pleadings
-Summarizing documents
-Organizing trial notebooks
-Interviewing clients

As you participate in your online courses, you'll study family and criminal law. You'll also learn about the formation of contracts, breach of contracts and remedies for breach of contracts. You'll also study the terminology, policies and procedures regarding estate planning, wills, trusts, estate taxes, estate sales and joint tenancy.

With your Associate of Science Degree in Legal Assistant/Paralegal studies, you'll have the skills to research the law; prepare and interpret legal documents; and conduct the day-to-day operations of a legal office.
