Health information managers oversee the process of data collection and analysis that doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals need to provide quality patient care and to maintain compliance with regulations. These professionals work in a broad range of settings that span the continuum of health care, including office-based physician practices, nursing homes, home health agencies, mental health facilities, and public health agencies. The growth of managed care has created additional job opportunities in HMOs, PPOs, and insurance companies. This curriculum builds upon the associate degrees in Health Information Technology and Health Insurance Claims Management and can lead into the DU MBA program. |
