The Master of Science in Sport Management Studies: Facility and Event Management online program prepares students for positions of management and leadership within the sport industry. The program recognizes the need for developing the student’s capacity to solve many problems arising from ever-changing economic difficulties, political and regulatory conditions, and marketing strategies. Students study and discuss real-life scenarios to ensure their competency in today’s competitive sport industry. Students enrolled in the online program are primarily full-time working adults who are highly motivated and self-disciplined in seeking completion of a graduate degree. Program length consists of 13 consecutive months, with new cohorts (approximately 30 students per cohort) beginning in January and July. Courses include Research Methods in Sport, Socio-Cultural Aspects In Sport, Sport Marketing, Public Relations in Sport, Legal Aspects in Sport, Sport Finance, Sport Ethics, Management and Leadership in Sport and Sport Mentorship. A total of 36 credits must be earned to complete this degree.
