California State University at Northridge's online Instructional Design & Adult Development program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to create effective, educationally-sound seminars, workshops, websites, courses, and manuals that are based on proven instructional design models and adult education theories. This one year program offers students new to the field the insight, skills, and education needed to begin successful careers in instructional design, while validating, through an educational credential, the extensive experience and background of seasoned trainers and professionals. The curriculum consists of six courses covering adult development, learning, and instruction; and culminates with a course in which you design your own product using the knowledge you have gained about instructional design and adult learning. The IDAD program is especially relevant for those interested in online teaching, training, instructional design, and global (at-a-distance) knowledge sharing and is suitable for those in both for-profit and non-profit industries.
