Concentrates on management of the challenging issues and situations faced by individuals working in private, industrial, and public security. The curriculum builds on current career experience the student may have in retail security, law enforcement safety, military, and other related areas.
Students in this program can expect to learn how to:
• Identify and categorize security-related threats in a business environment, • Use modern security management techniques and methods to minimize exposure to liability and loss from sabotage, employee theft, and espionage directed at proprietary assets, • Examine the physical vulnerabilities of a facility and how to employ appropriate intrusion detection, closed circuit television, and automated physical security systems, • Employ a systemic model to analyze current and projected non-compliant data and information exposure within an organization, • Implement the best practices associated with the effective management of security personnel, and • Assess and understand the legal and ethical dilemmas faced by security professionals.
