| Program Description: | American College of Education graduates of the M.Ed. in Educational Technology will not only gain a strong understanding of how to leverage new and current technologies to improve learning in the classroom, but they will also learn how to play an integral role in any educational environment, working in partnership with other teachers and administrators to integrate hardware, software and Internet resources to keep pace with 21st century technology. Educational Technology Program Our candidates will acquire the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to support student learning through the use of technology. They will also learn how to provide professional development and technical assistance to teachers as well as other school personnel. Courses apply directly to the challenges faced by schools to maximize effectiveness and dramatically improve student performance. Candidates in this program will learn how to use educational technology to lead in their classrooms, in their schools, and in their districts. These candidates will truly become the next generation of educational technology leaders in this country. Courses Coursework includes four core courses, including Assessment for Learning, Diverse Learners and Teacher Leadership. In addition, there are eight Educational Technology courses, including Information Access & Evaluation, Technology for Curriculum & Planning, Educational Technology Systems Management. A total of twelve, 5-week courses will be completed in 18 months. There is typically 1-2 weeks off between courses.
