Online Network Admin/Security Courses

Network Administration CoursesIf you are handy with technology, a career in the network administration field may be perfect for you.

Network administrators oversee computer hardware and software that makes up a computer network. These professionals are hired by large corporations to ensure that the network is functioning, upgraded regularly and as necessary—and most of all, safe. Freelance network administrators are also used to provide consulting services to small businesses and keep their networks running strong. (cont.)

When you pursue a career as a network administrator, you will likely be involved in network address assignment, deployment of routing protocols and routing table configurations, network backups, information infrastructure, as well as configuration of other authentication information. You will be responsible for the maintenance of network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers and printers. Sometimes this role can include overseeing network servers. If you prefer to work solo, it is a smart career choice because you are not involved with end users in most cases.

Because many companies are responsible for sensitive information and there are several laws governing private security, network administrators also ensure that information from internal personnel, clients and customers is kept safe.
