Online CIS Courses
A career in computer science begins with training in the Computer Information Systems field. With general courses and degree programs up to Ph.D.’s, the sky is the limit for those interested in studying computers.
Education in the CIS field can yield several rewarding career options. People with this training can work as information systems managers, network engineers, computer systems analysts, technology managers and chief technology officers. Be the “computer guy” for a smaller-scale business, or join a corporate IT team. You can also thrive as a self-employed technology technician with a background in CIS. (cont.)
Good people skills are essential even though you think you may be working behind a screen—that isn’t the case in most situations. You will likely have to gather requirements and needs from end users and develop programs and applications to meet them. End user training is also a possibility for those in the IT field. You will need to have strong communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional personnel to meet their technology needs.
