Our national leadership in the assessment of adult learning gives you many opportunities to seek credit for your accomplishments to date. That means you may demonstrate your previous learning through testing or portfolio assessment, and combine that with transfer credits; online, e-Pack® and Guided Study courses; professional licenses; and military and professional training programs. The ways you complete your degree program are as unique as your academic and professional history.

Our programs are available year round; you can start on the path to success when its convenient for you. New semesters start monthly, so you may apply online or with a paper application at any time. Completing degree requirements is convenient, since there"s no need to travel to the College. In fact, many degrees can be earned entirely online. Since we deliver your education to you, you can live anywhere in the world and still earn a quality Thomas Edison State College degree.
The entire academic program at Thomas Edison State College is designed to be as flexible as possible to enable you to complete a degree program in more than 100 areas of study. There are three basic approaches you can take to complete your degree:
Established in 1972, Thomas Edison State College is one of New Jerseys 12 senior public institutions of higher education and one of the oldest institutions in the country designed specifically for adults. The College is regionally accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and offers 16 associate, baccalaureate and masters degrees in more than 100 areas of study, as well as undergraduate, graduate and noncredit professional certificate programs. Our undergraduate nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and the New Jersey Board of Nursing. We are also a member of Alpha Sigma Lambda, a national honor society for adult students.
Thomas Edison State College programs are led by distinguished mentors who have strong academic credentials, extensive real-world experience and proficiency in teaching adult learners. We engage well-qualified faculty from accredited colleges and universities around the nation to provide guidance to you as you progress through your course work and to make assessments of that work and of the course examinations. Mentors assign course grades and are available to you via e-mail, phone and fax.
