Your SCU Academic ExperienceWe are dedicated to providing individuals with the ability to access an outstanding education infused with ethics, integrity, and faith. The online classes at Southwestern Christian University are interactive and supportive and are taught by the very same faculty who teach on-campus classes. Our online classes are powered by the Comcourse Learning Management System that has been tailored for SCU. Students are able to access videos, class discussions, and course materials 24-hours a day, 7 days a week from any computer with a connection to the Internet. Transferring Credits at SCUA student may earn up to 15 semester hours of credit by examination. Transcripts from regionally accredited colleges and colleges accredited by the Association of Biblical Higher Education will be accepted by SCU for transfer credit. All courses on the accepted transcript will be placed on the student's transcript and the transfer transcript cumulative grade point average (GPA) will become part of the student's cumulative GPA. Courses utilized in the student's major must carry a grade of C or better. Our Background and HistoryThroughout its history, SCU has sought to serve the kingdom of God by offering educational programs to Christians of various denominational backgrounds. The university has urged Christian ecumenicity in a commitment to the basic doctrines of historic Christianity. At the same time SCU feels it has a theological contribution and educational ministry that is unique to the heritage of its sponsoring denomination, the International Pentecostal Holiness Church. |
