E-Learning at MaristIn line with its mission, Marist College is committed to the exploration and execution of ways that academic excellence can be enhanced through information and communication technology. The on-going creation and development of academic programs and coursework to be delivered to our students in an online format is key to achieving this goal. Marist is committed to offering new and exciting opportunities for learning via the Internet to any student across the country. How Online Courses WorkThrough the use of cutting-edge instructional technology, the online delivery option enables students to interact extensively with both their instructors and classmates. Each student is assigned a login and a password that allows them to access the course content, the professor, and their classmates. Communication is ongoing via e-mail, bulletin boards, group conference rooms or private chat rooms. The program is organized in such a way as to enable students to work with each other on group projects just as they would in a traditional classroom. Interestingly, some students have reported more interaction with the professor and student peers in on-line classes than in the classroom. |
