College of the Southwest is a private institution of higher learning established in 1962. The online academic classes, or our comprehensive campus life program are designed for the pursuit of academic excellence in a supportive educational environment where the freedoms of thought and expression are honored and the multiple cultures from which we come are valued. It has long been noted that successful endeavors begin with investing oneself personally.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer recognized the connection between responsibility and resultant challenge. "Action springs not from thought, but from a readiness for responsibility." As a community of initiative, CSW challenges graduates to become enterprising members of our society contributing to the common good by advocating for and participating in the productive commerce of free enterprise, the constitutional privilege of self-government, and the practical contributions of community service.
CSW exists to create tomorrows leaders who embrace bold ideas with a willingness to take strong action tempered with passion and reason, courage and commitment.
College of the Southwest offers distance education opportunities to students all over the world. Using the power of the World Wide Web, CSW delivers courses online with WebCT, Microsoft Internet Explorer and CAMS-Enterprise course management. Courses are enhanced with e/pop web conferencing and MediaCAST.
As a community of faith, service, responsibility, and initiative the college strives to honor freedom of thought, pursue greatness by serving others, embrace accountability to others, and attempt to contribute to the common good in productive commerce. CSW strives for excellence in academic curriculum, where freedom of thought and expression is honored and the demonstration of faith in acts of service is encouraged.
