University of Delaware teams up with payment security experts to offer online courses

Given that continuing education may boost career and salary
opportunities, the University of Delaware and the Society of Payment Security Professionals (SPSP) have announced they will offer online data protection courses.

The SPSP will provide six eLearning modules for the data security course offered by the university's Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Management Department (HRIM). Students who complete the course will receive a certificate in data protection.

Chris Mark, founder of SPSP, says he is pleased with the university's decision to enter into the collaboration that will further students' education in what he called a "vital management concern."

"The ability to offer this course … allows the University of Delaware to ensure that its students receive the most comprehensive and timely education on data security issues facing our industry available today," adds Dr. Cihan Cobanoglu of the HRIM department.

Those contemplating a new career may consider an online degree in information technology as the Bureau of Labor Statistics suggest demand for IT managers will grow by 16 percent until at least 2016, and median annual earnings exceed $101,000.
