Working professionals may benefit from online degree programs
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), employment of organizational management professionals is projected to grow by 12 percent over the next eight years. Individuals who are working in this field can expect to plan, coordinate and direct a broad range of services that allow companies to operate efficiently.
Working adults who wish to earn a degree in this field may want to consider web-based education. Many online schools, such as Grantham University, specialize in educating nontraditional learners.
Grantham recently announced that it will be offering an online masters of science degree in performance improvement. This program is designed to provide students with the skills that are necessary to enter a career in organizational resource management.
Students who graduate from this program may be prepared to manage complex organizational challenges through performance improvement strategies.
"In light of the economic uncertainty and continuously changing regulatory requirements business are facing, we need highly talented individuals who can lead organizational changes and improve human performance," said Ms. Rhonda Corwin, dean of Grantham Universitys Mark Skousen School of Business.
Coursework will focus on human resources management, training and development, organizational development and human performance technology.
The flexibility of this, and similar online programs, gives busy working professionals the freedom to study when and where it is convenient for them.
Median annual wages for adults working in this field were $73,520 during the 2008-2009 fiscal year, according to the BLS.
