Walden University to add online bachelor degree in public administration and political science
In an effort to help provide career opportunities to students interested in public service and social change, Walden University, an accredited online education institution, has announced the launch of a bachelor degree in public administration and political science.
Offered through the school's College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, the new program will allow students to thoroughly examine the foundations of the U.S. government as well as scrutinize the ethical considerations that its leaders often face. Enrolled students will also have the opportunity to explore the political strategies commonly used by 21st century elected officials.
"This bachelor's degree program is different in that it offers the best of both worlds - a solid foundation of political science theory along with public administration skills that working professionals can apply immediately in their careers," said Robert Holsworth, Walden faculty member and recognized political analyst.
Students who are admitted to the program will have the opportunity to choose from several different concentrations, including global issues and social justice, law and legal studies, managing in the public environment, public service through civic engagement and social entrepreneurship.
