Teacher's college approves $2.5 million in student grants

American College of Education (ACE), an accredited provider of online teaching degrees, has recently announced that it has approved $2.5 million in student grants and tuition assistance for its masters degree in education program.

The online college will be offering financial assistance to working educators across five states, including Georgia, Louisiana, South Carolina, Missouri and Florida. It will also reserve grants for select member organizations, such as the National Education Association, Discovery Education and the Chicago Teachers Union.

"Because all of our courses are offered exclusively online, our online masters degree students can take their classes anytime, anywhere they have an Internet connection, thus reducing the obstacle of accessibility," said Vernon Johnson, an executive vice president at American College of Education.

The standard tuition grant offsets the cost of five credit classes. Those selected for tuition assistance must meet admission criteria and enroll in ACE by each program's deadline.

Students enrolled in the online masters degree program can choose from specializations in educational technology, curriculum and instruction and education leadership.
