School offers virtual orientation for students in online courses
Campus orientation is an important part of every freshman's experience, but what about students who decide to pursue an online degree?
It turns out that some schools are now offering virtual orientation tours. For example, Edison State College in Florida has rolled out sessions during which students are shown the online bookstore and where to find links to their courses, according to News-Press.com.
The news provider also quotes one freshman Michael Welchman, who is back in school at the age of 38, as saying he was nervous about how online courses would work. However, after participating in the online tour he now feels comfortable he can handle the tech side of his Introduction to Algebra class.
Busy adults who have to juggle multiple responsibilities while pursuing a college degree may consider enrolling in one of the many online degree programs offered by institutions around the country.
According to the Census Bureau, individuals with a bachelors degree (or more) earn about twice as much as those with only a high school diploma.
