Prospective students interested in enrolling in an online schoolwill soon have more options as the Education Online Services Corporation (EOServe Corp) and Jackson State University have unveiled their agreement to develop various online degree programs.

The step is part of the effort to put together an online curriculum for Jackson State University, in particular its Colleges of Education, Lifelong Learning and Public Service.

"The interest in higher education through distance learning is increasing in popularity and will continue to do so over the next decade," says Ezell Brown, chairman of EOServe Corp.

He adds that the main factors driving the demand include the difficult economy, rising inflation and busy schedules of working parents and other professionals.

Jackson State University is a historically black, coeducational, research intensive, public institution of higher learning, while EOServe Corp helps its partners successfully adapt to the demands of online education.

Adults planning to switch careers have many online degree programs to choose from offered by schools around the country, as the Census Bureau estimates suggests individuals with college degrees earn about twice as much as those with only a high school diploma.
