Online university uses podcasts to communicate with current and prospective students
Capella University, an accredited online college created for working adults, has recently released its latest Inside Online Education podcast, a feature that hopes to create a greater sense of community in their web-based programs.
Regular podcasts feature interviews with faculty and students as they share their online education experiences from a firsthand perspective.
The latest episode focuses on how Capella develops its curriculum and features an in-depth look at the online classroom experience.
The podcast also discusses the university's acceptance of the Platinum Learning Impact Award for outstanding use of technology from the IMS Global Learning Consortium.
"The judging panel recognized that our academic model helps us to continually impact the quality of the learning experience in our continuous commitment to deliver a superior learning outcome to our students," said Christopher Cassirer, president of the university.
The podcasts are about 15 minutes in length and are available on the university website as well as on iTunes.
Online education is a cost-effective and flexible option for those who would like to earn their degree but find it difficult to attend classes on campus because of distance, family or work commitments.
