Online university to broadcast free webinar
Henley-Putnam University, an online school specializing in strategic security, has recently announced that its next free webinar titled, Insider's Guide to Internet Intelligence Collection, will take place on January 28.
The webinar will be led by Edward Roche, a professor of intelligence technology at the university and an expert in telecommunications, who will discuss potential job opportunities in personal protection, federal law enforcement as well as counterterrorism.
Roche will also talk about how virtual worlds and social media networks have changed the way that law enforcement personnel gather intelligence.
"The rapid rise of social networking presents unique challenges to the law enforcement and intelligence communities," said Roche. "It compels not only creation of new techniques of investigation, but also the training of a new generation of analysts."
Currently, nearly 4 million students are taking online courses and earning online college degrees. At the secondary school level, more than 700,000 high school students are taking one or more courses online and nearly 40 states have established state-led virtual schools.
