Online university recognizes two successful digital arts graduates

Full Sail University (FSU), an accredited online education provider specializing in the entertainment industry, has recently recognized two graduates of their digital arts and design bachelor of science degree program.

Jason and Sue Chin, who graduated from FSU in 2001 and 2002 respectively, used their newly developed skill sets to design a highly successful Sushi restaurant located in Orlando, Florida.

Using programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and 3D Studio Max, the graduates redesigned the restaurant and added a 1,400 square-foot area to the original facility.

"This is a perfect example of how the digital arts and design bachelor of science degree program can be so diversified," said Eric Rosenfeld, program manager of digital arts and design at the university.

"It is inspiring to see graduates who were able to develop a career outside the immediate industry and…it truly demonstrates to current and former students that their design background knows no boundaries," he added.

The online education sector grew by 17 percent in 2008 and had been growing at about 20 percent in previous years. Nearly one in four U.S. students take at least some college courses online, up from one in 10 in 2002, Reuters reports.
