Online university partners with law enforcement organization
Earlier this week, officials at TUI University, an online education provider, announced that the school has been renamed an academic partner of the National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), the world's largest organization of law enforcement officers.
The partnership will allow members of FOP and their families to receive a 15 percent tuition reduction for bachelors degree programs and a 27.5 percent discount on masters degree programs. TUI offers online courses in criminal justice, strategic leadership, public management and homeland security.
"This academic partnership with the Fraternal Order of Police demonstrates TUI's commitment to serving the educational needs of our nation's first responders," said Kenneth Sobaski, president and CEO of the university.
"By renewing our participation as a FOP University partner, we will continue to provide enhanced academic and career opportunities for law enforcement members," he added.
TUI has also developed allegiances with the U.S. armed forces, the FBI and numerous local law enforcement organizations.
Online education can be a flexible option for those who are looking to earn their degree but find it difficult to attend conventional on-campus classes.
