Online university offers new certification programs
According to a recent Babson-Sloan report, more than one in four students are enrolled in at least one course online, and most higher education institutions believe that increasing online classes and degrees is critical for their long-term success.
Kaplan University is one such institution, as the school recently announced the launch of five new online certificate programs. Four of the programs are for Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) training, which is the information technology (IT) industry's largest developer of vendor-neutral certification exams. Kaplan's related courses of study include CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Server+ and CompTIA Security+.
Ron Trautman, president of Kaplan Continuing Education, said that the online CompTIA certificate programs, including the network security program, were developed to provide students with skills in systems and network support and to help them prepare for the certification exams to begin their pursuit of a new career.
The school will also offer an online certificate in administrative dental assistant training. The program is designed to prepare students to coordinate all of the administrative duties for managing the business aspects of a dental practice.
