Online university offers many religious degree options

Adult learners may be unaware of the number of online universities offering nonsecular education. Many Christian institutions are expanding to answer the demand for online education.

For example, Liberty University Online recently announced several new additions to their minor programs. The school will now offer minors in accounting, biblical studies, business, church ministry, Christian counseling, psychology and special education, among others.

As one of the only online schools offering minors, Liberty is allowing students to create a specific degree path.

"Liberty University Online strives to ensure that students are prepared for the vast and complex career paths they've chosen," said Wendy Morales, director of online marketing for Liberty University Online.

"Providing them with the ability to study multiple areas and complete a minor degree broadens their abilities and opportunities," she added.

Higher education can be expensive, and many students earn minor degrees from online colleges in order to gain the most benefits from their education. Individuals who have completed courses in several different disciplines may be better prepared for a competitive job market.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that individuals with a bachelors degree or higher, can earn nearly double the income of people with only a high school diploma.
