Grantham University, an accredited online education institution, has recently announced that Jeffrey Cropsey, former director of Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Educational Support (DANTES), has been named the school's vice president of strategic initiatives.

In this role, Cropsey will work to increase the visibility of the university's existing military and veteran markets as well as emerging post-secondary markets.

"I have always been impressed with Grantham's vision and mission, which is closely aligned with my 40 years of experience in military voluntary education," said Cropsey. "I am honored to be part of an organization whose focus is all about helping students improve their lives through education."

In his four decades of service working with various branches of the military, Cropsey received five service awards, including the Department of Defense Civilian Service Award and the Air Force Civilian Meritorious Award.

Universities that offer online degree programs may be attractive to busy adults who would like to acquire new skills but do not have the time to do so in a traditional setting.
