Capella University, which offers its degree programs fully in the form of online courses, has announced Raja K. Iyer will become dean of its School of Business and Technology.
Iyer will act as chief academic officer of the school which offers eight graduate online degree programs that include 34 specializations.
The new appointee previously served as dean of the College of Business Administration at Tarleton State University, a component of Texas A&M. He also held academic positions at San Jose State University, California and at the University of Texas at Arlington.
In announcing the appointment of Ilyer Christopher Cassirer, president of Capella University, said the new dean "bring an outstanding blend of experiences and qualifications," and he will be "a wonderful fit for our faculty and learners as we continue our commitment to providing high-caliber academic excellence."
