Online university announces video competition winners
Walden University, an accredited online education provider, has recently announced the five winners of its Scholars of Change video competition.
Earlier in the summer, the school invited students and alumni to submit videos that showcase how the online university helped them make positive changes in their life.
More than 90 current and former students responded to the contest, which was judged by the general public and a panel of specialists. Each of the winners earned $5,000 for themselves and $2,500 for the charity of their choice.
Winning videographers illustrated how their education helped them succeed in the fields of public health, psychology and business.
"These impressive videos demonstrate how Walden students are using their degrees to proactively bring about positive social change in their communities every day," said Jonathan Kaplan, president of the university. "It is an honor for all of us at Walden to celebrate their achievements and to further their efforts."
Online universities that offer online degree programs may be particularly attractive to busy adults who would like to acquire new skills but do not have the time to do it in a traditional setting.
