Online university adds several new degree programs

American Sentinel University (ASU), an accredited online education institution, has recently announced the addition of several new degree programs, including a bachelors degree in health informatics and geographic information systems.

The school has also added new business administration specializations in healthcare management, finance, business informatics and leadership as well as an online masters degree in nursing with an infection prevention and control specialization.

"American Sentinel University works diligently to enhance our programs so that students learn relevant curriculum that they can apply to their jobs immediately," said Catherine Garner, provost and dean of health sciences and nursing.

The health informatics programs will prepare students to become certified health data analysts and will provide training in the areas of information analysis as well as solution design and management of data storage.

ASU's geographic information systems program is designed to teach students how to interpret spatial data in order to uncover patterns, trends and relationships in the information technology sector.

Online education can be a flexible option for those who are looking to earn their degree but find it difficult to attend conventional on-campus classes.
