Online university adds forensic psychology specialization
The Eisner Institute for Professional Studies (EIPS), an online education provider, has recently announced the launch of a new forensic psychology specialization.
The program is designed for working professionals in the fields of law enforcement, corrections and criminal psychology.
"We are now offering synergistic programs that can integrate law and psychology," said founder Don Eisner. Coursework will include forensic assessment, expert witness testimony, legal writing and research, as well as mediation and alternative dispute resolution.
EIPS has also announced that it has added specializations in marriage and family therapy as well as licensed professional counseling. Both programs will make students eligible for licensure.
Overall employment in the psychology field is expected to grow by approximately 15 percent over the next seven years. The highest 10 percent earn more than $102,730 annually.
Today, over 3.5 million students are taking online courses and earning online college degrees. At the secondary school level, over 700,000 high school students are taking one or more courses online and nearly 40 states have established state-led virtual schools.
