Online universities to offer joint degree
Midway College and Highland Community College have recently announced an agreement that will allow students at both schools to earn their bachelors degrees entirely via online courses.
Eligible students will complete the first component of their program at HCC and will then continue on to Midway to finish their degree online.
The agreement officially matches the coursework between the two schools and will allow a seamless transition of credits.
"Flexibility is key for students today as many are working full-time and raising a family while also trying to earn or complete a degree," said Ellen Gregory, Midway Colleges vice president for marketing and communications. "Our partnership
allows for that flexibility with the degree programs being offered 100 percent online."
Students enrolled in the program can earn their bachelors degree in homeland security corporate management as well as organizational administration and leadership.
Both programs may boost employment opportunities in various industries including government, finance, healthcare and the military.
Online education is a cost-effective and flexible option for those who would like to earn their degree but find it difficult to attend classes on campus because of distance, family or work commitments.
