Online doctoral degrees may increase job prospects

Adult degree seekers who wish to launch a career in business may benefit from earning an ethics-based education. Many corporations and large companies are seeking employees with strong morals and leadership skills.

In order to assist those who are preparing for a career in business, Creighton University has launched an online doctoral degree program in leadership. Courses are prepared and led by full-time Creighton faculty, who represent a variety of liberal arts departments.

The school created the curriculum for this program based on its Jesuit foundations of social justice and service to others. Enrollees can learn effective communication techniques, as well as how to integrate new technology as well as to apply organizational and change theory to the workplace.

This degree program was designed for those who are pursuing careers in business, education or healthcare.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, approximately 44 million advanced degree holders were employed during the 2009 academic year. These professionals had higher salaries and significantly lower rates of unemployment than those with less education.
