Online college recognizes award-winning graduate
Ashworth College, an accredited online education provider, has recently announced that alumna Didiayer Snyder has been awarded with a certificate of recognition from the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) for her professional accomplishments and positive contributions made to the community.
Snyder, who is a two-time Ashworth College graduate, received online diplomas in carpentry and interior decorating, and is currently a team designer on the Emmy Award-winning Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
"As someone who demonstrates how her online education has made positive contributions to her professional success, Didiayer is clearly a role model," said Gary Keisling, Ashworth College chairman and CEO. "We're proud to have her as an Ashworth alumna."
Snyder also served as the college's 2009 graduation keynote speaker and was presented with the Ashworth Alumnus of the Year Award.
The DETC recently recognized 37 online education students who made positive impacts on their community.
Online education has been hailed as a cheaper and more flexible instruction option that allows adult learners such as busy parents or working professionals to earn a degree without interrupting their lives.
