Missouri woman earns full scholarship to Ashworth College through Project Working Mom

A Lebanon, Missouri, woman is the recipient of a Project Working Mom 2010 full-tuition scholarship. Heather Aldridge will pursue a professional physical therapy aide program at Ashworth College, an accredited online degree provider.

"My interest in physical therapy began in high school when I had the unfortunate experience of dislocating my knee during gym class," Aldridge explained. "Being able to help people repair their injuries without having to endure painful surgeries is an extraordinary opportunity and one I hope to experience firsthand."

Project Working Mom 2010 is a full-tuition scholarship program that offers parents a second chance at higher education. It was created by eLearners.com, a web resource of EducationDynamics, which connects prospective students with online classes.

Ashworth College is one of eight accredited online schools participating in Project Working Mom 2010. The program will award more than 280 scholarships, totaling close to $5 million. Ashworth is awarding 23 of those scholarships.

"Partnering with Project Working Mom has been a fantastic opportunity for Ashworth College to help many deserving, hard-working parents improve their lives," said Ashworth's vice president of education, F. Milton Miller. "Education can take skills - and income - to the next level. And a college degree can set an employee or business owner apart as a professional, demonstrating business knowledge to peers, potential customers and employers."
