Leading online university introduces new degree programs

Kaplan University, a provider of post-secondary online education, has announced the launch of five new specializations to its bachelors and masters degree programs.

Included in the newly developed curriculum is a master of science in management specialization in human resources that will train students to examine and evaluate organizational development and employee behavior within the workplace.

The new online masters degree program is designed to help human resources professionals gain an edge in the competitive and demanding labor market. "We are committed to providing rigorous degree programs that provide our students with the skills to compete in today's job market," said David Clinefelter, Kaplan University Provost.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics says that a masters degree is well recommended for those seeking top positions within the HR field.

Depending on the specific occupational title, the source projects a rise in hiring of between 11 percent and 18 percent over the next seven years. The median annual earnings of wage and salary for human resources managers in 2006 were $88,510. The middle 50 percent earned between $67,710 and $114,860.
