Kansas State University announces new online bachelors degree completion program
Adults who would like to complete their college degree may be interested to learn that Kansas State University's School of Family Studies and Human Services and the Division of Continuing Education is offering a new online degree.
The bachelors degree completion program will launch this fall and provide students with the knowledge of human development and how it relates to the family.
"In addition to the required course work, we offer a large number of elective courses, enabling students to choose among several different areas of emphasis to develop their own unique area of specialization, including early childhood, youth and gerontology," says Mary DeLuccie, professor of family studies and human services at K-State.
The school adds that graduates will increase their chances of employment in a variety of fields, including youth, family and community service programs, residential programs, the judicial system, cooperative extension, higher education, elder care facilities as well as public health.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, demand for public health social workers will grow by 24 percent during the decade of 2006-2016, with top salaries exceeding $64,070.
Adults interested in similar careers have a range of online degrees to choose from offered by institutions around the country.
